I think y'all are thinking too much on this issue. You need to go back to basics:
1. AGW alarmists are alarmists because it is the way to get the "environmental sustainability" agenda they didn't get when they made the sustainability argument 10 years ago. 2. Thus, any solution other than a massive reduction in energy use is unacceptable because only through a massive reduction in energy use can one obtain the objectives of the sustainability agenda. 3. Therefore, the moral dilemma is the only useful argument to the AGW alarmists (note: the entireity of this administration's environmental management team are AGW alarmists). Hence, a rational approach such as that offered by Ken, and a lot of the rest of us, (e.g., geoengineering as an insurance policy against catastrophic climate change) is a complete non-starter as it does not guarantee immediate, massive energy reduction. I note as well (yes, this is just my opinion) that if, tomorrow, someone stepped up with cheaper-than-coal tabletop cold fusion with a commercial grade capacity, and available for immediate implementation, the AGW folks would reject it immediately - BECAUSE it would deny them their sustainability agenda. So don't try to interpret the confused blather of those like Inez Fung. They aren't interested in climate change as a problem to solve. They are interested in it as a means to an entirely different end.
