To what extent will the melting Arctic affect evaporation, and subsequent weather systems?
Please could someone advise the group what the difference in water transport to the atmosphere from ice is, via sublimation, as compared to evaporation from liquid water? I understand that the temperature difference of air over ice is significant, but there is also a sublimation effect which I was not previously aware was significant. To what extent do complexities arising from this effect have the capacity to alter the efficacy or impacts of geoengineering with aerosols?
