I wasnt talking about icebergs in the water. I was talking about the permafrost in Alaska and Canada and Siberia where the snow melts during the summer. We can lengthen the snowy season and make the ice covering thicker to keep the reflectivity high.
As far as being obvious, a lot of ideas and inventions are obvious once they are thought of but not before. I'm an inventor. I invented a solar power tower that will generate double the amount of electricity from a utility scale power tower plant. Engineers who have seen the blueprints want to smack themselves on the forehead and say "Why didn't I think of that?" I did a long patent search and found what I expected, despite the simplicity of the idea, nobody had thought of it.
