Unfortunately Daly's an economist, albeit one opposed to conventional
notions of economic growth.  His goal is a small-scale, no-growth,
steady-state economy, and he is hostile to anything that extends the
lifespan of the modern global economy (apparently even at the expense
of civilization as we know it).
