I thought it might be worth starting a thread on a 'do list' for
geoengineering and abrupt climate change lab research.

Here's my research wish list.  I'd welcome additions, deletions and
comments:

Application of SRM to local and regional preservation of ice shelves

Establishing the upper limits of global temperature control using SRM
methods in combination

Establishing the impacts on the carbon cycle of large step changes in SRM

Could extreme methane release scenarios cause hypercanes?

Could extreme AGW and feedbacks result in general ocean anoxia ?

Can extreme emissions scenarios lead to a globally toxic CO2 level and a
general extinction/die-off of animal life?

Modelling peak Cirrus suppression in a purpose-designed geoengineering
regime

Ideas for triggering extreme storms which penetrate and wet the stratosphere

Photo realistic modelling of an SRM skyscape, consequential public
acceptance research.

Desk research on likely animal and plant  behaviour change in an SRM world

Economic modelling of large scale, distributed biochar production.

Upper bounds of capacity for arctic regional SRM using widely available
aircraft only - I.e. lower  altitude release.

One I intend to do - alternative artillery technology for SRM use

Modelling of bromine injection into hydroxyl radical depleted clean ocean
air, for the removal of methane

Drainage management in thawing permafrost areas for the control or
methane/carbon release

Ecosystem interventions in soils and water to reduce Methanogenesis and
increase methanotrophy.

I could go on....

My hope is that this list may serve as a focus for ideas exchange.
