Hi

I've been canvassing opinion on the role and management of the group. (If
you'd like to contribute, please email me.)

A consistent complaint was thread jacking. Accordingly, I'm writing to
everyone about it.

It's very annoying when threads get diverted to discussion of irrelevant
topics. It's poor manners, and there's really no excuse for not starting
another thread.

So please, don't say stuff like:
A) "hey, before we discuss this highly detailed and technical SRM issue,
why not look more closely at CDR!"
Or
B) "this particular SRM technology is not as good as my hobby horse
alternative SRM technology"

There's a time and place to discuss all of the relevant issues, so there's
no need for thread jacking.

Thanks
