Dear all

In response to the query below, I have provided Renaud de Richter with pdfs of
papers describing the 'cloud treatment' technology, including the following:

Amirova S & Tulaikova T (2015) The atmospheric CO2 purification method. Global
Journal of Science Frontier Research H: Environment & Earth Science, 15 (1) [no
page numbering]

Amirova S & Tulaikova T (2015) One possibility for atmospheric CO2 purification
to get climate recovery. Science Discovery 3 (2-1), 1-6

Google Scholar searches for Tamara Tulaikova will give others.

It is questionable whether such ideas should be taken seriously. I suspect
there would be i) high costs involved for scale-up to have significant climatic
effect; and ii) major problems regarding governance and acceptability.

References to this technique were not given in the Nature article, not only
because of the above considerations but also because there were tight
constraints on the number of citations that could be included in a Comment
article (normally limited to 10).

I am happy to share pdf's with others if they are sufficiently interested and
have problems in tracking them down (the journals are not listed in Web of
Science).

Regards

Phil

Subject: NEW CDR technology? Cloud treatment to increase alkalinity (alkaline
rain resulting from cloud treatments removes atmospheric CO2) ?

Are there scientific publications on this CDR proposal?
Is it described somewhere on the Internet?
Has anybody an answer?
Thanks!

Can somebody explain what exactly is the 8th CDR technology cited: "Cloud
treatment to increase alkalinity"?
Alkaline rain resulting from cloud treatments reacts with, and removes,
atmospheric CO2.
Are there scientific publications on this CDR proposal?

Thanks
