Dear colleagues,

We would like to make you aware of the upcoming workshop on Community
Climate Intervention Strategies (CCIS) on February 19-20, 2020, with
possible team working sessions on Friday the 21st, at NCAR in Boulder, CO.
Please note the date on your calendar.

This workshop is the result of an earlier internal workshop of the NCAR
Climate Interventions Strategies (NCIS) project, that took place on July
30-31st, where the need for a holistic evaluation of climate intervention
strategies was identified:
https://www2.acom.ucar.edu/workshop/ncarucar-climate-intervention-strategies-ncis-workshop-2019

This workshop will bring together different communities and organizations
in order to discuss a proposal to create a unifying framework that will
focus on the holistic evaluation and assessment of all the proposed climate
intervention strategies. We invite participation from various groups that
are interested in this work, including experts on Carbon Dioxide Removal
(CDR), Solar Radiation Management (SRM), integrated assessment modeling,
observations, impact analysis from global through regional scale including
impacts on society and ecosystems, stakeholders and funders.

More information will follow in the next weeks and months,

The NCIS Steering Committee:

Simone Tilmes, Peter Lawrence, Brian Medeiros, Roy Rasmussen, Wojciech
Grabowski, Andrea Prein, Britt Stephens, Andrea Smith, Doug MacMartin,
Deborah Lawrence, and Monica Morrison.
