*How can fiction help people think about Solar Radiation Modification?*
https://youtu.be/GtnQYz0BqRo

by C2G Carnegie Climate Governance Initiative

When author Eliot Peper first heard about solar geoengineering, or solar
radiation modification, he knew he had to write a novel. “There are so many
different angles on this kind of a problem. It raises so many questions
that impact every area of our lives,” he told C2GTalk (
https://www.c2g2.net/c2gtalk/) . Speculative fiction, says Peper, can spark
people’s curiosity and inspire them to become engaged. “If it makes other
people look more deeply and pay more attention, to me that’s a huge win.”

Eliot Peper is the author of nine novels, including Cumulus, Bandwidth,
and Neon Fever Dream. He publishes a blog, sends a monthly
newsletter, tweets more than he probably should, and lives in Oakland, CA.

Peper’s most recent novel, Veil, is a speculative thriller about diplomats,
hackers, spies, scientists, and billionaires racing to control our climate
future. Janos Pastor, C2G’s executive director, calls Veil “the tale we
need to confront climate change. Peper deftly explores one of the most
controversial ideas on the climate agenda—solar geoengineering—and its
geopolitical quandaries—raising tough questions and showing why we require
new forms of governance to answer them."

*Saving the Arctic with Cloud Brightening*

by Facing Future

Sean Twomey, an Irish physicist, flew into clouds to measure their
reflectivity, and found that the smaller and more numerous the water
droplets, the higher the albedo. Watching the white spray from crashing
waves, John Latham realized that Twomey's idea could work to keep the
Arctic cool. If tiny droplets of seawater could be seeded into clouds,
they would reflect more sunlight, and prevent ice from melting in the
summer. He asked #StephenSalter to design a system to make it work. He
did. Peter Wadhams agrees that this method would apply a sticking plaster
to global warming and buy time to restore the climate. The same process
could help preserve coral reefs.

Now the question is, can someone be found to finance the operation soon
enough to prevent the melting of the Arctic and subsequent release of
methane? As #PaulBeckwith points out, it's not rocket science. Instead
of sending rockets into space, if Messrs. Musk, Bezos, or Branson would
focus on saving the planet, they could provide the ships needed for marine
cloud brightening. #PeterWadhams notes that the cost is low for such a
powerful intervention and well worth it. It could save the sea ice, the
coral reefs, and help cool the ocean. If nations won't do it, maybe a
scientifically minded billionaire can rise to the challenge.

*Debating The Geoengineering Reality, Dane Wigington and Cal Tech Scientist
Douglas MacMartin*

by Dane Wigington

In regard to critically important issues that have extreme ramifications,
live on air debates of verifiable facts are absolutely essential. Global
climate engineering programs pose an immense and immediate threat to the
Earth’s life support systems (and thus the entire web of life). A live
on-air public debate has now taken place on WBAI radio in New York (hosted
by Geoff Brady) in order to specifically address the ongoing global
geoengineering reality. Cal Tech / Cornell / MIT scientist Douglas
MacMartin says climate engineering is not occurring. Dane Wigington, lead
researcher for GeoengineeringWatch.org (the world's largest and most
visited geoengineering website) states available data makes overwhelmingly
clear that global geoengineering programs have been deployed for decades
with catastrophic results.
Who is telling the truth and backing it up with verifiable facts? View this
fast moving 1 hour video (complete with imagery and documents related to
the debate) and decide for yourself.
We must publicly expose academicians who are helping to cover the tracks of
the climate engineers. Once the public is fully awakened to the
geoengineering atrocities, those that are accomplices to the cover-up
should be held legally and morally accountable in a court of law. All of us
are needed in the critical battle to expose and halt climate engineering,
sharing credible data is key.
