*Abstract*
Global warming poses a significant threat to Earth’s climate stability.
This paper presents a novel approach to combat global warming through a
computer simulation model that explores the possibility of altering Earth’s
orbit. Using Newton’s law of gravitation and the Stefan-Boltzmann
law, we calculate the equilibrium temperature of Earth at
various distances from the Sun. Our results suggest that in-creasing
Earth’s orbital radius from 1.0 AU to 1.0578 AU could potentially
counteract the projected 7K temperature increase
due to global warming, albeit with significant changes to Earth’s
yearly cycle. This study provides a theoretical framework for understanding
the relationship between orbital dynamics and planetary temperature,
highlighting the complexity of addressing climate change through
astronomical interventions.
