Northwest Geophysical Associates, Inc. (NGA) is now in the process of
creating
an OASIS montaj� module that will allow interpreting the magnetic and/or
gravity response of a simple body as mentioned by
Keith Jones, Graham Jenke, Bill Morris and Frank Arnott.
NGA envisions �1BOD� (our current name for this module, one body) as a
derivative of our full-featured GM-SYS software that takes its input
(including body
definition) from OASIS montaj�. Interpreters would be able to use the
interactive
forward and inverse modeling features found in GM-SYS (including
Autocalc) in this module. Furthermore �1BOD� will include a library of
standard geometrical shapes including dikes, steps, wedges, and plates.
Of course, NGA plans on including this functionality in the next full
GM-SYS release. So if you have already licensed GM-SYS you will be
receiving the new features automatically. If you do not have GM-SYS,
you will now have a way of using our modeling and interpretation
software
without having to license the complete GM-SYS package.
