Dick-
I think I have something simpler than digitizing for you.
Let's assume 80 channels of res (rho, p1-p80) at 5m intervals and a strong
res contrast at an interface with a constant threshold.
Make a new channel "depth".
depth=(p80<.thresh.)?400:400;
depth=(p79<.thresh.)?395:depth;
depth=(p78<.thresh.)?390:depth;
etc.
This should give you one channel with the depth to the top of the first
conductive interface.
