Rick,
You can create pdf files straight out of Oasis montaj if you have the full
version of Adobe Acrobat. Create your map and then print it to the Acrobat
Distiller printer. Make sure you select the Geosoft Postscript option in the
Oasis montaj print configuration dialog box. You may need to play with the
settings to get the pdf to look exactly like you want. You can then edit the
pdf in illustrator.
This is almost exactly the same as Mark's suggestion of printing to the
Adobe postscript printer except that you skip the step of having to create a
pdf.

I've had some success just printing to the Adobe Postscript printer. It does
make for some huge files though.
