I think many geophysicists spend a lot of time manipulating their line data.
OM has its own limitations and Geophysical line data is usually big in
volume and is hard to bring to programs like MS-EXCEL to manipulate. It also
is real nuisance to have to write a special purpose program in a standard
language like C each time such a need comes up.
AWK and PERL are quite simple basic programming languages that handle such
small tasks easily and often in just few lines of code, if you would like to
give them a try.
Good luck,

Alan-
Thanks for the help. I've done the math (I can do it manually for each
line if necessary), it's hacking the GX that's the problem because my
programming is zilch. One of these days I'll get around to learning some
C. Most of the tweaks I want are so small though, that it's more time
efficient to find a work around (like doing it manually).
