I use ternary images a lot but trying to make a really good legend is very difficult. The Geosoft ternary legend is really only an indicator of how the colors are applied to the data. In many cases the display of the image uses a non-linear display which limits any simple relationship between colors and the original data. If you really want to try to make more specific legend colors, I suggest that you would need to draw and fill polygons with specific mixtures of colors. You can easily do this with Geosoft although I doubt that you will find it worth the effort. A better approach is to use the linked cursors to point at the same location on the various maps of interest to you. That way you can identify the relationships somewhat more quantitatively. You should note that the free viewer allows you to share your maps and databases with users who do not have the software.

Hello.
Can anybody explain me principles of ternary colour image
constructing? I understand how the image constructed, but I saw no
equal colours in the image and in the legend. How can I determine for
particular colour how much it contain from 1st, 2nd and 3rd grid. I
have looked through the tutorials, but didn't get clear answer.
I know Oasis 5.0 have some bugs in it. Upgrading to 5.0.6 changed
things, but didn't solve the problem.
