Sean, not sure this helps, in the past USGS program directories and paths to
them change after an OM upgrade, and would see the USGS GXs not always function
as they had. For example (from an older Jeff Phillips note)- "When using
version 8 of the USGS GXs, make sure you don't have any old usgs_* files in gx
and bin directories under \Program Files (x86)\Geosoft\Oasis montaj\.All usgs_*
files should be in the gx and bin directories under \Program Files
(x86)\Geosoft\Oasis montaj\resourcefiles." What I've done when these didn't
work or ran oddly after an upgrade is recheck the directories and specified the
path to these directories in the Windows variables, this latter step may be
redundant though. Oddly behaving or non-functioning GX's did though work
properly after the above was done. Ed

Hi all,
I recently upgraded to OM 8.3.1 from OM 8.2 (where the USGS GXs worked quite
well) and I am now getting an error that looks like "The usgs_ftprep" dynamic
object was found but could not be loaded. This affects the following function
IUSGS_Ftprep". Reading on the geosoft support about a similar error it pointed
towards a file in ..\..\usr\csv called gxredirect.csv that has a list of
functions. It says that sometimes this file gets corrupted and needs to be
copied from ..\..\resourcefiles\csv. However, this large list is likely
generated at installation time and does not include the custom USGS GXs.
Another message I saw on this forum suggested that these errors can be caused
by missing files that are linked to in the dll (solution by Marc Pelletier). I
checked this and everything seems ok. My other thought is that maybe I should
bundle the GXs into geosoft package using the new GX Developer and then maybe
installing GXs this way somehow populates the gxredirect.csv file. Am just
downloading now and will try it out, but wanted to see if anyone else had any
ideas.
