Thanks Sebastien. I introduce myself:
I am Simone Dalmasso and I'm in charge for the web-gis development(even a
little bit of server configuration and maintenance). I am an environmental
engineer and Ph.D. student, I've started to work in the web-gis field about
4 years ago.
Starting from the first web-gis based on mapserver and chameleon I've then
discovered geoserver, than openlayers than python and django and so on. Well
now our architecture is based on Geoserver, OL, Ext.js, GeoExt, Django and
Postgres. currently we have a django project with several apps that share
some basic functionalities.
I think that trying to migrate on GeoNode could be an occasion for a good
refactoring....
Some months ago we started to work on a project based on the same components
for the automatic web-gis generation in order to allow a user to build it's
own map with different functionalities and tools, then we interrupted this
because of haiti emergency and other projects. But the interesting thing is
that all we have had the feeling of a need of a system more integrated for
the web-gis and data management, and GeoNode is what is needed.

Thank to all.

Simone.
