hello all, first a thank you as a GeoServer user to all the companies funding the project and its developers and bringing the product to what it is today.
my notes in no particular order follow: * i'd like the logo to reflect what the product is: a worldwide, best-of-breed, open source, OGC standards compliant, GIS Application Server! while traditionally the GIS part is represented by a Globe, some (real) old maps used two spheres to show the whole Earth; i.e. the 'world-wide' aspect of the product. that's the rationale for proposing a representation of the Earth which shows most if not all the continents --nothing to do with politics or political correctness. * like any real-life activity tasks have to be funded. so indeed, this feedback process has to be limited. i already gave my feed-back and tried to explain the motivation behind it. at the end of the day, people use a product not because it has, or not, a 'nice' logo. GeoServer is for sure an excellent product whatever logo it will have :-) On Wed, 17 Sep 2008 04:05:05 am Chris Holmes wrote: > Er, the current GeoServer logo > http://geoserver.org/download/userResources/GEOS/logo has about the > same portion of the world.
