Hi Greg,

As far as i know (and please coverage folks correct me if i am wrong) 
you are correct, only ascii grids are handled. I think it would be great 
if you could contribute and help develop a format for binary grids.

Simone and the coverage exprts should be able to better guide you on how 
to proceed.
