Pixel Tollerance for getFeatureInfo requests should be configurable on a per
layer basis
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: GEOS-2371
URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-2371
Project: GeoServer
Issue Type: Improvement
Components: Configuration
Affects Versions: 1.7.0
Environment: N/A
Reporter: Darren
Assignee: Andrea Aime
Priority: Minor
When performing a getFeatureInfo request, geoserver by default has a 2pixel
tollerance. This is OK for "large" objects like polygons but for points or
lines it's far too small - requiring precise mouse control. The tollerance is
unfortunaley hard-coded into geoserver. The tollerance should be made
configurable as part of the layer configuration in geoserver. So for a layer
containing point data, the tollerance could be increased to 16 for instance.
This is particularly relevant when using symbols, where you want a larger
tollerance so that you can click anywhere within the symbol and get the data as
required rather than only in the centre of the symbol.
