Renaming Layer Name

Layer name changes don't appear in the layer view list, but seem to go into
effect.
I renamed layer in data tab, pressed save and was redirected layer view page.
Layer name still listed as previous name. However, if I click on the layer
name, the changed name appears in the data tab.
