Also before you go forward all committees must sign the GeoServer contributor agreements which agrees to assign copyright for your work to TOPP. You can download the form here: http://geoserver.org/download/attachments/1278277/assignment_agreement.pdf?version=4 If you can fill that out at your earliest convenience that would be great. Other then that the documentation is divided up by language: http://svn.codehaus.org/geoserver/trunk/doc/ You will see "en" and "es". I suggest you create a new directory named "pt_BR" and work under there.
