One idea Justin and I kicked around was to make the db-backed catalog the
default (using h2), so as to get better testing on it.  Not sure if it's
ready for that level of testing, but I think it could be a nice way to make
it more solid as a lot more people than normal would test it.

We could do it for the betas, then switch back to the old way for the
release candidates and final release.
