What we do at FOSS4G to ensure comparability is to use a script
generaring thousants
of random bboxes with certain attributes (such as min and max size,
included in the
data area and so on) and then store them in a csv file.
JMeter reads that file during the load, that ensures randomness but
also that the
various servers do the exact same workload.
In theory if we had a long enough series of request it would not
matter to actually
have a reproducable list, but in practice we cannot afford to have
servers run for
that long, especially since there are 6-8 servers participating to the
effort and the
testing server is just one ;-)
