So far no one seem to have anything to add to this. Perhaps I can take silent
as consent :).

Hope everyone can take note on this thread and perhaps we can do a release on
Monday if there are no objections :). We will let this thread sit over the
weekend and if no one have any objection we will push for release of 2.2-RC1 on
Monday.

I will also need your help Justin to release Geotools :)

I will update both mailing list before we release.

Release time tentatively will be 11 GMT +8 Monday 18th of June

Hey Victor, I talked to Christian about these fixes today and i am not sure if
these will be blockers for the release. Christian has them fixed on a branch in
his github repo:

https://github.com/mcrmcr/geoserver-1/commit/3672723e7a5656c0ea0d64cf6b78a34088c71831

The patch is quite large, but most of it is mechanical stuff. But as we are so
close to a release candidate i am tempted to leave them to 2.2.1. With our new
push for monthly releases I don't see this as too much of a problem. But
something for the rest of the devs to weigh in on. I will let Christian explain
further.

Hi Everyone,

Looks like we are close to being able to release Geoserver 2.2-RC1. All the
issues have been resolved except for

https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5155

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5101

As raised by Christian, we have to resolve these before doing the release. The
cite test looks healthy with everything passing. Looks like we have to aim for
next Monday or Thursday to release Geoserver 2.2-RC1 ( I am aways for Tuesday
and Wednesday to take a test)

I will continue to keep an eye out for the 2 jira issues :)

Thank you everyone for contributing to the release :)

On the security front, the following issues have to be solved:

https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5155

http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5101

@Andrea, I have seen you are the default assignee for issues concerning the
"security" component. Perhaps it is a better idea to change this to Justin or
me ?

Hi,

We will have to push back releasing Geoserver 2.2-RC1 release until the
following are done

  https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5139

  https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5103

And when all the patch for cite test are in.

http://hudson.opengeo.org/hudson/view/cite/

The wcs cite failures will need to be looked at as well.

So tentatively we will aim for Monday(18th of June) next week for releasing
2.2-RC1

Thank you everyone for your feedback and contribution :)

I was going to mention the same about cite tests but luckily things are looking
up.I have most of the failures under control and am waiting for one more patch
to be committed by the CITE folks and then we'll passing the latest official
versions of the tests. As Andrea mentioned this does involve a geotools patch
currently pending review.

Non cite related stuff that might be good to get in is the recent REST security
patch that was contributed and cleaned up a bit by me.

  https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5139

And then the workspace local styles issue with the rest api:

  https://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOS-5103

Not sure if that has come to a conclusive end yet either but I am hoping to get
that in soon.

Traditionally for RC1 ot be released we need to pass all the CITE
tests. This is because RCs are supposed to be turned
right into the final as-is unless something seriuos pops up.

However the cite tests are still not running on Hudson
(http://hudson.opengeo.org/hudson/view/cite/) and
I believe Justin is still working out the failures and waiting for at
least one review (my bad, will do it tomorrow).
I also have to look into the WMS failures, if only the earthquakes
will give me some half day of peace during the
incoming weekend.

Cheers
Andrea
