Well to modify that property you have to modify the resource instead of the
layer so you could use:
public boolean configureCoverage(final GSCoverageEncoder ce, final String
wsname,
final String csname)
Remember to set the GSCoverageEncoder name properly otherwise you'll get an
exception.
