Issue Type: Bug Bug
Affects Versions: 2.3.5
Assignee: Andrea Aime
Attachments: cite-nat8km.gz1-39.jpg, cite-nat8km.gz.jpg, Radar-National_BAS_81-35.jpg, Radar-National_BAS_8.jpg
Components: Image mosaic JDBC

Description:

We are hosting radar imagery on our Geoserver using image mosaic and the end users will not accept the pixelated imagery imagery in the layers on initial bounding view until zoomed way in. There are four attached images: The Radar-National_BAS* files are from layers using ImageMosaic. The cit-nat8km are also 8km radar images (different test data, sorry), but from my geoserver at home using WorldImage. The files with the 1-35 and 1-39 at the end of their names are from zooming into to that resolution. The non-1-XX files are the native view in preview layers with no zooming. The worldimage imagery looks just fine (great in my mind) at the initial view, the imagemosaic is not usable.

The imagemosaic Radar layer uses the same interpolation method (bilinear) as the WorldImage stored layer. The WMS settings are also the same for my employer's Geoserver as well as mine at home.

Environment: Linux O/S, Dual Quad core AMD
