Hi Jody,
about the name, we initially thought about "Virtual Coverage" since we got
inspired by GDAL "Virtual Raster".
That's not the very same thing, but with a "Virtual Raster" you may define
a new Raster built on top of other Rasters, by defining some properties to
customize how to use them.
So this is why we called that "Virtual Coverage".
