Added a couple of quite elementary fixes. The build has been stuck for a while, wondering why no one else could figure out these two very simple NPEs? All it took was to run manually the test that was getting stuck in my IDE, noting the failing tests, fixing them, and voilà, the test that was getting blocked also got out of the infinite wait (yes, there might be better ways to do it, but I am in vacation and a working build is better than a stuck one).
