Hi list, I found an issue with the joda-time version in GeoServer. *Before moving multidim plugins from community to extension the situation was like this:*
- monitor extension depends on wicket-datetime-1.4.12 which depends on joda-time-1.6 - netcdf community module depends on cdm-4.6.2 which depends on joda-time-2.2 The release process copies all the dependencies to release/target/dependencies (including joda-time-1.6 coming from monitor extension) The community modules are built from a different path resulting into netcdf plugin properly getting joda-time-2.2. Deploying a GeoServer war with the NetCDF plugin was resulting into properly using joda-time-2.2 *After moving multidim plugins from community to extension the situation becomes like this:* The release process copies all the dependencies to release/target/dependencies. (I still have to understand how this folder is populated. Is the maven copy:dependencies itself which decides which dependencies need to be copied?) What I have noticed anyway is that ares copies 1.6 version from monitor extension, whilst on my local build as well as on some our jenkins machines, the 2.2 version is taken instead. Anyway, using joda-time 1.6 in NetCDF results into exceptions thrown by underlying classes static initializaters (classes used for Date and Time parsing such as SimpleUnit, UnitFormatManager and so on, which I assume require methods and classes from JodaTime 2.2) So my question is: what do you think about setting explicit dependency somewhere on GeoServer poms to use joda-time-2.2? (maybe in the dependencyManagement section, plus some exclusion filter) I have downloaded source code for wicket 1.4.12 (which was using joda-time 1.6). I have changed its pom to use joda-time-2.2 and the build was successfull, tests included. Therefore, it should work fine even with that greater version. Feedbacks?
