Initial testing in a VM - we need to update dates for 2017

I also note that the memory settings seem to be off when run as a service:
* Memory Usage 72 MB / 123 MB*
So I suspect start up parameters may be off (kind of which we had a status
endpoint that reported the startup parameters).
