I's looking at some improvements for the Windows installer of GeoServer.

For now I'm thinking about the following features:

  * Better upgrade path of a single GeoServer installation
     * Remember 'Service' and 'Port' settings - ENHANCEMENT
     * Uninstall previous version, before installing the new version -
BEHAVIOR CHANGE
     * Non-versioned Windows Service Name (for easier use in script/batch
files) - BEHAVIOR CHANGE

  * Named GeoServer installations - ENHANCEMENT
     * This would allow you to install multiple instances of GeoServer on the
same machine, with each having its own upgrade path:
        * Will required multiple registry keys
        *   Instances selection/specification
        *   Multiple service names
        * IP-Port specification per instance (available)
     * When starting the installation, initially the 'single instance' setup
will be used (the way the setup is working now).

But before I start with this, I was wondering if there are objections to these
features and/or changes.
And regarding the instances, if there is some actual need!
