Andrea I am interested in seeing the best solution implemented (best being for the long term health of the codebase).
If you are choosing between several approaches please keep in mind our offer of putting some time towards this activity. This task has also gathered a lot of response so there may be interest from others in taking part also. I will leave the specific technical tradeoffs to proposal writing; just wanted to be very clean on the offer of assistance. -- Jody Garnett On Sat, 11 Apr 2020 at 01:44, Andrea Aime <andrea.a...@geo-solutions.it> wrote: > On Fri, Apr 10, 2020 at 10:27 PM Jody Garnett <jody.garn...@gmail.com> > wrote: > >> This issue is very much of interest to GeoCat and our customers; if you >> feel that using InternationalString would result in a more maintainable >> codebase in the long run, I would be happy to join you in a proposal to >> make this API change, and assist with untangling any conflicts / backports >> etc...during the period of transition. >> > > This approach would has a significant implementation overhead.
