Hello list, I am having to host a few GeoNode instances and it uses GeoServer as the backend. We have a lot of shapefile based datastores (some with tens of megs and just a couple of polygons so GeoServer has a hard time rendering them).
I am going to host more than one GeoServer instance on a more powerful machine but I have the following options and I don't know if I should go for more CPUs or more RAM i will have one PostGIS db and 2-4 Geoservers: A) Extra Large Instance 15 GB memory 8 EC2 Compute Units (4 virtual cores with 2 EC2 Compute Units each) 1,690 GB instance storage 64-bit platform I/O Performance: High API name: m1.xlarge B) High-CPU Extra Large Instance 7 GB of memory 20 EC2 Compute Units (8 virtual cores with 2.5 EC2 Compute Units each) 1690 GB of instance storage 64-bit platform I/O Performance: High API name: c1.xlarge Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts with me.
