Hi all!

I am using geoserver to expose numerous WMS layers in an application I am
building with the use of GWT + gwt-openlayers.

At some point, the user provides the name of a layer that he wants to see on
the map. However, in some cases (as one would normally predict), the name he
provides does not match with an existing layer.
At this moment, if I try to visualize a non-existing layer, the map is
simply filled with a semi-transparent white rectangle. Is there a way to
make geoserver completely ignore this (invalid) request of mine and just do
nothing?

Thanks a lot
