I don't think it has been tried much, you are probably hitting issues with
static variables that are being shared since all the instances are sharing
the same .class files.

It's a job of hunting down the unintended shared variables and fixing them,
one by one, by trial and error

If you come up with some significant patches please share them with the
rest of the community :-)
