Ciao Andrea I'm not able to change the Java code an recompile geoserver. We use a Geotask WMS-Server. Do you want have a look on the getCapability Result? Perhaps you can see what can be the problem. I suspect the following entry:

I'm afraid there is nothing logging the actual url requested... What WMS are you trying to access?
