Hi all, Fabio, just to make sure, did you enable developer logging and Verbose Mesaging in Geoserver global settings? Usually the error stack should be then written out in the image.
Andrea, should I go and make a patch to print out the cascading request, for the Level.FINE log level? It is pretty useful to have it around when something goes wrong.
