Hello – I´ve spent several days trying to get QGIS 1.6 “talking” to

When activating a WMS URL in QGIS I get two messages from “Q WMS-source
-window”:

Advertised GetMap URL

 <http://localhost:8085/geoserver/ows?SERVICE=WMS&;>
http://localhost:8085/geoserver/ows?SERVICE=WMS&;

is different from GetCapabilities URL

 <http://localhost:8085/geoserver/wms?> http://localhost:8085/geoserver/wms?

This might be an server configuration error. Should the URL be used?

&

Advertised GetFeatureInfo URL

 <http://localhost:8085/geoserver/ows?SERVICE=WMS&;>
http://localhost:8085/geoserver/ows?SERVICE=WMS&;

is different from GetCapabilities URL

 <http://localhost:8085/geoserver/wms?> http://localhost:8085/geoserver/wms?

This might be an server configuration error. Should the URL be used?

QGIS “says” the layer is av WMS 1.3 service and at the same time says “A
compliant implementation of WMS 1.1.1 …”, but I´m trying to run WMS 1.1.1 .

I have tried GeoServer 2.1 Beta3 and RC5 since Jan 2011 with the same
result.
Everything “seams” to work except QGIS isn´t showing any mapdata in the
mapwindow!

Layer Preview in GeoServer, uDig and Gaia works fine with my WMS layers.
GeoServer 2.0.2 and earlier versions always worked together with QGIS.
