Ah, that is a (slightly modified) UUID.
GeoServer uses that unique generator when there is no primary key on database
tables to use to generate a identity of some kind for the features.

The solution is to add a primary key in your database tables,
or use the new "feature from raw sql" feature that allows you to
specify which columns
to be used for building an identifier:
