You should move at least to 2.1.1 (though personally I only use nightly
builds,
they always have more bug fixes).

I don't remember the details, but recent versions (2.1.x nightly for sure)
use st_envelope.
It has been really hard to find which functions it was legal to use and
which not,
since the postgis docs do not have a version number for when a function was
introduced.
Let me know if you find other usage of old functions, in that case it would
be appreciated
if you also could check what was the first version of postgis that had the
function.
