I introduced some polar projections in geoserver 2.1.3 and ran into some
problems with those.
Anybody can confirm this and maybe can suggest an alternative?

The projections:
north polar: http://spatialreference.org/ref/esri/102017
south polar: http://spatialreference.org/ref/esri/102020

issues:
- when using a natural earth raster and reproject it to a polar
projection, i get a black triangle from the pole, as if a part of the
raster can't be stretched properly (see
http://geocat.genuchten.net/natearth_southpole.jpg).
- when reprojecting vector layers (from postgis) and zooming out/pan
till right bottom of globe is shown, I get the message 'Points of
LinearRing do not form a closed linestring' (even on point layers). I
guess this is were the region of the date line should be displayed...
