Subject: Re: [Geoserver-users] Geoserver Scripting of WMS...
GeoScript isn't quite the right tool for configuring GeoServer services - it
works on geospatial data in general and not GeoServer settings. For this you
would be better suited looking at the REST API:
http://docs.geoserver.org/latest/en/user/restconfig/rest-config-api.html
There are also libraries available in a few different languages for working
with the REST API at a slightly higher level of abstraction. I maintain this
one: https://github.com/dwins/gsconfig.py/
GeoServer-manager is another:

Hello list,
I am fairly new to Geoserver.
I been looking into a way to script a wms service and even possibly a script to
delete a wms service.
Mainly because there are thousands of wms to publish in a production
environment.
I have looked in geoscript and all over the list posting but with no luck.
Would anyone know if this is possible or the best approach to manage a similar
situation?
The service is for some 1 million raster images by varying years.
Looking to upgrade to version 2.2 also.
Thanks in advance.
Hank.
