Thank you for your reply. I have used GeoServer for some time, but I am not familiar with retrieving logs. By 'crashing' I mean the terminal that is running geoserver stoped listing the geoserver operations that are being performed and goes back to a command prompt. If you could refer me to documentation on retrieving logs I will attempt to get them for you.
