Hi Ammar,
It depends what you’re using by way of the servlet container (i.e. Jetty,
Tomcat etc.), and what the logging level is at. GeoServer itself doesn’t keep
that sort of logs.

User logging may happen at that level (although it typically requires going
through the servlet security component, which I don’t think GeoServer does by
standard).

I’m (slowly) working on a log-viewer tool for OGC services including WMS, which
I’ll open source at some point. It’s designed for viewing aggregated data (how
many people looked at which layer; what clients are used, what layers get
queries most, etc.), rather than a specific user. If you’re interested, get
back to me and I’ll point you to the prototype.
Alternately if you’re looking for a specific user, you’re best looking in the
logs manually.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Subject: [Geoserver-users] WMS statistics/history

Hello all,

Is it possible to know which WMS service has been accessed and by which user in
GeoServer? I have GeoServer 2.4.1 installed on Windows Server 2008.

Best regards,
Ammar
