At the time I wrote the email I was getting clob data back in place of
nvarchar(max) data. I've since found a setting to disable that and get back
normal data. So it's more "works" than "not" but there's a new issue that some
layer definitions based on views are not able to detect the geometry field.

Redesign? I though it would have been a "works or doesn't" thing.
What kind of changes would you have to make?
