I’m using version 2.5, and has no 2.7 to test on right now. Will do that later.
The error occurs when trying to create a Cascaded WMS Store. Maybe there is
something wrong with the capabilities document? The resource is available here

Which version of GeoServer are you using?
Can the issue be reproduced using 2.6.x or 2.7.x?
