Hi Jukka,
thank you for your suggestion, but using "gdal_edit.py" does not worked for
me. I have instead found a solution using the "listgeo" and "geotifcp"
programs from LibGeotiff library (more info: http://trac.osgeo.org/geotiff/
).
The first one can be used for dumping GeoTiff metadata and second one can
be used for copying the metadata into another image.
Anyway, I would advise that I have prepared the pull request for the
GeoTools master branch: https://github.com/geotools/geotools/pull/821.
When the pull request will be merged, I will prepare the backport on the
13.x and 12.x versions.
