Hi, I believe that Andrea was meaning the change from Linux to Windows. Cascading WMS makes sense for your use case.

But in our case we are using a service on internet where login is required. By using cascadning wms we could hide the login-information from exposing in a js-file. If the problem couldn’t be solved we will leave GeoServer for the cascading WMS.
