Hi Alex, you'll have to check the log file for more detailed information.
Look for $GEOSERVER_DATA_DIR/logs/geoserver.log. You might set the log level to VERBOSE_LOGGING (in Settings -> Global -> Logging profile) temporarily if you can't find any apparent error with default log level.
